A Magical Proposal at Descanso Gardens Ancient Forest


There’s something truly special about capturing a proposal at one of Los Angeles’ most beautiful spots — Descanso Gardens. Nestled in the heart of the city, this botanical garden offers stunning natural beauty, peaceful pathways, and the perfect blend of lush greenery and sunlight filtering through towering trees.


Anton and Alex chose the enchanting Ancient Forest area for their proposal session, and honestly, it felt like stepping into a dreamy fairytale. Their adorable dog was right there with them, making the moment even more magical and heartfelt.


From the soft dappled light to the timeless charm of the garden’s towering oaks and lush ferns, every detail of Descanso Gardens made their engagement photos absolutely breathtaking. Their pup’s joyful energy and gentle presence added such warmth — it was impossible not to smile capturing their connection.


For this session, I used my Nikon Z6 III paired with my favorite 50mm f/1.2 and 85mm f/1.2 lenses to create those creamy backgrounds and sharp, intimate portraits that truly capture the emotion of the moment.
