Behind the Camera: New Portraits of Myself

As a photographer, I believe it’s important not to forget about yourself.

We spend so much time focusing on our clients, building portfolios, sharing beautiful moments — but at the end of the day, people don’t just choose a photographer for their work. They choose a person. Someone they feel comfortable with, someone they connect with.

That’s exactly why I decided to update my own portraits.

I want my clients to see who I am — not only through my work, but through me. Because sometimes, even through a single image, you can already feel if it’s the right match.

Being on the Other Side of the Camera

I’ll be honest — I feel confident in front of the camera when I truly like how I look.

And a big part of that comes down to something very simple: what you wear.

If you feel comfortable, if you like yourself, it shows in the photos. If something feels off, you’ll feel it during the entire session. That’s something I always keep in mind when guiding my own clients — because I’ve experienced both sides.

The Vision for This Session

These photos were taken by my friend Anna in a Los Angeles studio, and I personally edited them to reflect the same tones and style I deliver to my clients.

I wanted everything to feel simple and clean — natural daylight, minimal setup, bright and airy tones. Nothing distracting. Just honest, timeless portraits that reflect how I see myself and my work.

My Journey Into Photography

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Even before I formally studied it in 2013, I always had a camera with me. At school, in my free time — I was constantly photographing people, nature, even myself. It never felt like a hobby I might grow out of. It felt permanent.

I can’t imagine doing anything else. Not even close.

What I Love About What I Do

What I love most about photographing weddings and families is the emotion.

The real moments. The happiness. Sometimes even tears — and yes, I feel them too. I’m not just someone holding a camera. I’m present, I care, and I connect with what’s happening in front of me.

There’s something very special about being trusted to capture moments that people will come back to for the rest of their lives.

My Approach on a Wedding Day

One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is actually the very beginning.

I always arrive early, walk around, get familiar with the space, understand the light. And then — seeing my couples fully ready, dressed, and glowing — that moment always feels exciting to me.

That’s when everything becomes real.

My Style

I would describe my work as bright and airy, with natural colors and a subtle film-inspired look — especially influenced by Portra 400.

I don’t chase trends. I want my photos to feel natural, timeless, and true to what the moment actually looked and felt like.

What Makes My Approach Different

I genuinely care about what I do.

Of course, photography is my profession — but it’s never been just about money for me. If it was, I don’t think I would feel this way about my work.

I care about my clients, about their experience, and about the final result they receive. That’s what drives me.

Creating a Comfortable Experience

One of my biggest priorities is making people feel comfortable.

I never want to force poses or create awkward situations. Instead, I guide gently, create space, and let moments happen naturally.

Sometimes the best way to start is simply walking together and letting things unfold from there.

A Little More About Me

When I’m not working, I love traveling, spending time at the beach, hiking, and being with my husband and our dogs (they’re a big part of my life).

A fun fact — my clients are often surprised by how quickly I deliver photos. Engagement sessions can be ready in as little as two days.

Inspiration

I’m inspired by photographers like Jose Villa and many others. I’m always studying, watching interviews, and staying connected to the craft.

For My Clients

At the end of the day, I want my couples to see themselves and think:

“We look amazing. We look real. We look like us.”

Natural, emotional, comfortable — never forced.

I love working with couples who value that. The ones who want a relaxed experience, beautiful natural colors, and a connection that feels easy — like working with a friend, but with intention and professionalism behind it.
